The very first commission

In the beginning, when I was trying to create lengths of bunting using eyelets and rope, my neighbour asked if I’d make something really special for her to give to her new partner. Well, with that as a brief I searched for thick, red crafting felt. This had to be bunting, but with a difference. The red felt held it’s shape and didn’t flex too much, the eyelets were small enough to  prevent the hearts from sliding up and down, as well as adding lovely detail. With hidden stitches a small heart was attached to a few and I added a gold thread stitch, for a little extra sparkle. She loved it and so to did her partner. Seeing how much a little bit of thought, a little bit of time had revealed such a lovely warm smile on her face . . . I just wanted to make more.
